As the pot industry blossoms, a robust supply chain is needed to support the growth, packaging and marketing of help grow, package and market legal marijuana. Where there’s weed, there’s a need for everything from greenhouses, lighting and fertilizer, to pipes and vaporizers, edibles and more.
Demand for pot-related products and services is expected to grow sharply as more states loosen marijuana laws. In September, Ohio will join 28 other states with medical marijuana programs.
I’m working on a story that will feature some Northeast Ohio businesses hoping to play a role in this fast-growing industry. The story will be the second in an occasional series about the business side of Ohio’s medical marijuana industry.
I’ve already identified from a plastic packaging company, a new staffing agency*, and the Cleveland School of Cannabis as companies entering the Ohio market. Drop me a note if you’re also a business gearing up for the fall start-up of the medical marijuana industry in Ohio and you’re willing to talk about the role your company may play in this burgeoning new industry.
I’d like to hear from all sorts of ancillary businesses supporting cultivators and dispensaries that will develop and sell medical grade products. Give me a call and leave a voicemail at 216-470-7324, or send me an email at mpledger@plaind.com.
