In Ohio as well as 33 other states, medical marijuana is legal for patients who get a prescription. Despite this, an employer can still fire or refuse a job to anyone who tests positive for marijuana on a company drug test.
This is especially a problem for medical-marijuana users who have serious ailments and need to keep their jobs.
Ohio needs a ballot initiative that would protect people who are using medical marijuana so that they can find and keep the jobs they need to survive.
I am a high school student and do not use drugs, but I believe strongly in the rights of other people and supporting their right to find adequate jobs to support themselves and their families.
